The recessed version of the Series TY-FRB Pendent Sprinkler, where applicable, is intended for use in areas with a finished ceiling.

The Series TY-FRB, 5.6 K-factor, Horizontal and Vertical Sidewall Sprinklers described in this data sheet are quick response -standard coverage and decorative 3 mm glass bulb type spray sprinklers designed for use in light and ordinary hazard and commercial occupancies such as banks, hotels, shopping malls, etc. They are designed for installation along a wall or the side of a beam and just beneath a smooth ceiling. Sidewall sprinklers are commonly used instead of pendent or upright sprinklers due to aesthetics or building construction considerations so where piping across the ceiling is not desirable.

The TYCO Series RFII 5.6 K-factor, “Royal Flush II” Concealed Pendent Sprinklers Quick Response (3-mm bulb) and Standard Response (5-mm bulb), are decorative sprinklers featuring a flat cover plate designed to conceal the sprinkler. These sprinklers are optimal for architecturally sensitive areas such as hotel lobbies and office buildings, churches, and restaurants. Each sprinkler includes a Cover Plate/ Retainer Assembly and a Sprinkler and Support Cup Assembly.

5.6 K-factor Sidewall(Window Sprinklers )
The TYCO Model WS Specific Application Window Sprinklers are fast response and glass bulb-type spray sprinklers available in Horizontal Sidewall and Pendent Vertical Sidewall models. These sprinklers are the first to be specifically Listed to provide complete wetting and coverage for heat strengthened and tempered, or ceramic glass windows using closed sprinklers. As part of the testing, the gas flow required to achieve the time/ temperature relationship specified in ASTM E119 was established in a test furnace without sprinkler protection. A window assembly protected with the TYCO Model WS Window Sprinklers was then installed in the test furnace, and the same gas flow conditions were maintained for a two-hour test period. No cracking or visible damage to the window was permitted during the test period and even when a hose stream was directed at the window.

They are designed for use in light or ordinary hazard and commercial occupancies such as banks, hotels, and shopping malls. The TY-FRB Recessed Pendent Sprinkler, where applicable, is intended for use in areas with a finished ceiling. The adjustment provided by the Recessed Escutcheon reduces the accuracy to which the fixed pipe drops to the sprinklers must be cut.

11.2 K-factor Upright and Pendent Sprinklers
TYCO Series ELO-231FRB 11.2K Quick Response, Standard Coverage, Upright. and Pendent Sprinklers are automatic sprinklers of the frangible bulb type. They are quick response spray sprinklers that produce a hemispherical water distribution pattern below the deflector.
The 11.2K ELO-231FRB Upright and Pendent Sprinklers were subjected to full scale. high-piled storage fire tests to qualify their use in lieu of 5.6 or 8.0 K-factor standard spray sprinklers for the protection of high-piled storage. Higher flow rates can be achieved at much lower pressures with the 11.2K ELO-231FRB Sprinklers, making their use highly advantageous in high density applications, such as the protection of high-piled storage.
