5.6 K-factor Pendent and Recessed Pendent Sprinklers
The Series EC-5 Extended Coverage Pendent Sprinklers are decorative glass bulb sprinklers designed for use in light hazard occupancies. They are intended for use in automatic sprinkler systems designed in accordance with standard installation rules (e.g., NFPA 13) for a maximum coverage area of 400 ft2 (37,2 m2), as compared to the maximum coverage area of 225 ft2 (20,6 m2) for standard coverage sprinklers used in light hazard occupancies. The recessed version of the EC-5, intended for use in areas with a finished ceiling, uses the two-piece Style 50 Recessed Escutcheon. The Style 50 Recessed Escutcheon provides up to 3/8 inch (9,5 mm) of total adjustment from the flush pendent position. The adjustment provided by the Recessed Escutcheon reduces the accuracy to which the fixed pipe drops to the sprinklers must be cut.

5.6 K-factor Sidewall Sprinklers
The Series EC-5, Extended Coverage Horizontal Sidewall Sprinklers are extended coverage, decorative 3 mm glass bulb type spray sprinklers designed for use in hydraulically calculated sprinkler systems in light hazard, commercial occupancies such as churches, restaurant seating areas, hotels, educational facilities, offices, etc. With their coverage up to 16 ft (4,9 m) wide by 24 ft (7,3 m) long and maximum deflector to ceiling distance of 18 in. (450 mm), they are designed for installation along a wall or the side of a beam and just beneath a smooth and level ceiling. Horizontal sidewall sprinklers are commonly used instead of pendent or upright sprinklers due to aesthetics or building construction considerations, where piping across the ceiling is not desirable.
The fast response thermal sensitivity rating of the Series EC-5, 3 mm Bulb Type Sprinklers provides a quick response extended coverage (QREC) rating for many of the coverage areas detailed in Tables B and C.

5.6 K-factor Concealed Pendent Sprinklers
The TYCO Series RFII, 5.6 K-factor, Royal Flush Concealed Pendent Sprinklers, (TY3532), Quick Response, Extended Coverage, Light Hazard (ECLH) are decorative, 3 mm bulb type sprinklers featuring a flat cover plate designed to conceal the sprinkler. These sprinklers are optimal for architecturally sensitive areas such as hotel lobbies, office buildings, churches, and restaurants. The Series RFII sprinklers are intended for use in automatic sprinkler systems designed in accordance with standard installation rules (e.g., NFPA 13). The fast-response thermal sensitivity rating of the Series RFII (TY3532) provides for a quick response, extended coverage (QREC) rating up to a 20 ft. x 20 ft. coverage area.

8.0 K-factor Pendent and Recessed Pendent Sprinklers
The Series EC-8 Extended Coverage Pendent Sprinklers are decorative glass bulb sprinklers designed for use in light hazard occupancies. They are intended for use in automatic sprinkler systems designed in accordance with standard installation rules (e.g., NFPA 13) for a maximum coverage area of 400 ft2 (37,2 m2), as compared to the maximum coverage area of 225 ft2 (20,6 m2) for standard coverage sprinklers used in light hazard occupancies. The recessed version of the EC-8, intended for use in areas with a finished ceiling, uses either the two-piece Style 30 or 40 Recessed Escutcheon. The Style 30 Recessed Escutcheon provides up to 1/2 in. (12,7 mm) of total adjustment from the flush pendent position, whereas, the Style 40 provides 3/4 in. (19,1 mm) of vertical adjustment from the flush pendent position. The adjustment provided by the Recessed Escutcheons reduces the accuracy to which the fixed pipe drops to the sprinklers must be cut.

11.2 K and 14.0 K Upright and Pendent Sprinklers
TYCO Series EC-11 and EC-14 Extended Coverage Upright and Pendent Sprinklers are decorative
glass-bulb sprinklers designed for use in light or ordinary hazard occupancies. They are intended for use in automatic sprinkler systems designed in accordance with standard installation rules, such as NFPA 13, for a maximum coverage area of 400 ft2 (37,2 m2) as compared to the maximum coverage area of 130 ft2 (12,1 m2) for standard coverage sprinklers used in ordinary hazard occupancies, Series EC-11 and EC-14 Extended Coverage Sprinklers feature a UL and C-UL Listing that permits their use with unobstructed or non-combustible obstructed ceiling construction as defined and permitted by NFPA 13, as well as a specific application listing for use under concrete tees.
Series EC-11 and EC-14 Extended Coverage Sprinklers have been fire tested to compare their performance to that of standard coverage spray sprinklers. These tests have shown that the protection provided is equal to or more effective than standard coverage spray sprinklers.
